SkyPilot Networks Surpasses 200th Customer and 10,000 Unit Shipment Milestones

Leading Carrier-Class Wireless Mesh Provider Expands Customer Base Across 40 Countries Worldwide

Santa Clara, CA – April 3, 2006 – SkyPilot Networks, the leading provider of carrier-class broadband wireless mesh networks, today announced the company has reached a series of significant milestones that include shipping its 10,000th unit and securing its 200th customer distributed across 40 countries worldwide. Soaring demand for SkyPilot solutions is being driven by a combination of service providers, municipalities and public safety agencies that leverage SkyPilot solutions to deliver a wide variety of applications including broadband data, voice over IP, public Internet access and video surveillance.

"By supplying the broadband wireless mesh network for over two hundred networks, we have proven the capabilities of our industry-leading synchronous mesh architecture," said SkyPilot Networks' CEO Bob Machlin. "The SkyPilot solution appeals to network operators due to the full integration of backhaul and access technologies in a system that provides a great deal of versatility. This allows operators to easily build resilient outdoor wireless networks that offer one of the lowest total costs of ownership in the industry."

Network operator MetroFi has recently collaborated with SkyPilot to begin delivery of a municipal wireless network in Aurora, Illinois, the second largest city in the state.

Recent SkyPilot-based international broadband wireless network deals include Telegens, a Jamaican Wireless Internet Service Provider delivering an island-wide carrier-class mesh system and SwiftTalk Ltd, an ISP and network operator delivering carrier-class meshing networking in Nigeria.

Maintaining its innovation and accelerating momentum, SkyPilot recently announced its SkyExtender TriBand designed for mixed-use municipal wireless networks that require public Wi-Fi and public safety access. The SkyExtender TriBand is a highly versatile product that integrates SkyPilot’s industry-leading 5 GHz synchronous mesh backhaul with two high-power access points, one dedicated to U.S. licensed 4.9 GHz public safety applications and one dedicated to 2.4 GHz public Wi-Fi access.
