SkyPilot Expands Executive Management Team to Support Rapid Growth

SkyPilot’s Mesh Networking Products Selected for Superior Security, High Bandwidth,
Range of Service, and Ease of Deployment

Santa Clara, December 12, 2005 - SkyPilot Networks, a leading provider of carrier-class mesh networking systems, today announced it has bolstered its executive management team with the appointment of four new senior executives, including finance veteran David Robertson as its new chief financial officer (CFO) and Marty Hahnfeld as the company’s new senior vice president of sales. Broadening SkyPilot’s deep pool of veteran industry management experience is vice president of business development Wes Schaefer and vice president of operations Allen Adolph.

“SkyPilot’s rapid growth, which is being driven by increasing global demand for the company’s price/performance-leading broadband wireless mesh solutions, necessitates an expansion of our executive management team,” said SkyPilot CEO Bob Machlin. “We’re at a major inflection point in the company’s growth that requires adding the senior leadership capable of catapulting us to a new level of growth and profitability. Prior to joining SkyPilot as its new CFO, David Robertson was CFO with BeamReach, a fixed broadband wireless equipment provider. Previously, he was CFO and executive vice president of finance with Com21 where he helped guide the company through its initial public offering and revenues reaching $200 million.

New senior vice president of sales Marty Hahnfeld joins SkyPilot after recently serving as president and CEO of HyperEdge Corporation, a developer of local loop network access solutions used by Tier-1 service providers. Previously, he was vice president of North America sales and a member of the founding management team at Zhone Technologies, a leading developer of IP-based network access products. He has also held sales and senior management positions with Ascend Communications, Carrier Access Corporation, ADC Telecommunications, and Cabletron Systems.

Wes Schaefer, SkyPilot’s new vice president of business development, brings more than 20 years of North American and European fixed and mobile telecommunications industry business development and sales management experience. He was instrumental in establishing and driving business with large carriers at start-ups Airespace (recently acquired by Cisco), NetNumber, and Nuera as well as closing large, strategic deals while at larger companies such as Ascend, Banyan, Digital Equipment Corporation, and Motorola.

Newly appointed vice president of operations, Allen Adolph, is responsible for manufacturing and the management of SkyPilot's global supply chain. He has over 20 years of experience managing contract/ODM manufacturing relationships, materials, and global distribution activities. Prior to joining SkyPilot, he held senior level operations management positions at Aperto Networks and Atoga Metro Solutions Division of ARRIS, both leading suppliers of broadband networking system products. He previously held positions at several networking start-ups companies including Adaptive, Whitetree, and Atmosphere, and has held senior management positions at NET and Dataproducts Corporation.
